Last month we asked ChatGPT to write a Welcome Speech for REBarCampRDU.  This week, we were given access to Google’s Bard, and we asked it the same question.  What a difference!

Here’s Bard’s Response:

please write the welcome speech for rebarcamp

Good morning, everyone!

Welcome to RebarCamp! I’m excited to see you all here and to get started on our weekend of learning and collaboration.

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is [Your name]. I’m a software engineer at [Your company], and I’ve been working with rebar for the past few years. I’m passionate about using rebar to build reliable and efficient applications, and I’m excited to share my knowledge with you all.

Over the next few days, we’ll be covering a variety of topics related to rebar. We’ll start with the basics, and then we’ll move on to more advanced topics. We’ll also have plenty of time for hands-on exercises and discussions.

I hope you all find this conference to be informative and productive. I’m looking forward to learning from you all and working together to build the future of rebar.

Thank you!

Now, let’s get started!

What Bard Got Wrong

It’s on the web in multiple places that REBarCamp is a one day event, focused on Real Estate.  We are not Engineers working on Rebar.  REBarCamp is described as an “un-conference” due to the unique format of it’s schedule.  Clearly, Bard thought we were doing a “traditional” Conference.  Overall, ths does not relate at all to the Event we are having at the Cary Arts Center on April 18th.

The Welcome Speech written in under 2 minutes by ChatGPT, in comparison, very elegantly focuses on our actual event, and the Real Estate Community it is targeted for.

Bottom Line

Not all Artificial Intelligence is created equal.  It will evolve, and I’m certain a year from now, we will all be surprised with how far it’s grown.

I hope you have tickets to REBarCampRDU, I can’t think of another time when Technology and Market Conditions have moved more swiftly!  Trying to stay in front of the changes is extremly challenging, and it will be fun to come together as a Community, and learn from each other!
